“One fish, two fish, three fish, reef!” The art of creating and maintaining your very own underwater ecosystem–

The Marine Aquarium

Welcome! This blog is about more than creating a marine aquarium, it is a love story between a woman and the ocean–a homage of sorts, ignited by an act of kindness shown to her many years ago in the form of a gift, her first aquarium.  This gift thereby started her twenty-four year love affair with the ocean and all its wonderful inhabitants.  So, in 1993 her journey into the marine aquarium hobby began.   She is now passionate about reef keeping and the preservation of the world’s natural coral reefs.  Here, in this blog she is sharing her love of the hobby with hope that it will ignite a love of the ocean and the marine aquarist in you!

Deangela Webb enjoys watching nature documentaries, traveling, reading, dancing, interior decorating, shopping for aquarium livestock and watching her aquarium inhabitants for hours. Her current bucket list includes visiting all the major aquariums in the United States and learning how to scuba dive so that she may one day scuba-dive Australia’s Great Barrier Reef.  Deangela is currently working as a human resources professional in New York City while pursuing her Master’s Degree in Speech, Language Pathology.  Although she embraces her current career aspirations, she proclaims that in her next life she will definitely be a marine biologist or a mermaid! She is single and lives with her two true percula clownish, two honey damsel fish, one keyhole angelfish, one six-line wrasse, one coral banded sea serpent, three fire fish, one algae blenny, one yellow tang, a pistol shrimp, its companion shrimp goby, a pink sea urchin and a partridge in a pear tree!
